Hello viewers, and welcome to the Final Fantasy World Tour! Before we begin, let me introduce myself.
I'm your host, NoAverageMitch. You can find me on XBox Live, Steam, and YouTube to ask questions, comment, and bug me online. I was a Nintendo kid growing up, but now I play almost everything I can get my hands on (except current sports games and MMOs). On YouTube, you'll find my Let's Play channel, Mitch's Video Game Pit, where I record playing video games and comment on my progress along with my colleagues and friends.
Since I began my channel, I always wanted to record longer games such as RPGs. However, being a huge time and resource constraint, I chose to begin my first RPG Let's Plays in blog format. Having an itch to play through all of the classic Final Fantasy games, we now have Final Fantasy World Tour.
Over the course of this blog, I will be playing through FFI through FFVI, including snapshots of my progress and my personal commentary. On occasion, I will bring guests on to comment along with me. If you ever have any questions or suggestions on how I can improve the process, please leave your comments at the bottom. Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy the ride!
Final Fantasy (NES: 1987 JP/1990 US)
My new blog adventure begins with the original Final Fantasy, which did not make it to the States until about 3 years following its Japanese release. I did not get into the original Final Fantasy until I had played through the SNES II and III (known to Japan as IV and VI). However, I was always intrigued with it from my old copies of Nintendo Power. I eventually ordered it online through Funcoland (rest in peace). Being an older title in the series, I had difficulties getting into it. I eventually powered my way through it. Years later, I played it again on PSX when it released with its sequel in Final Fantasy Origins. Since then, there have been several revisions released, but I have not played any of them. For this installment, I will be playing the NES version.
Coming up next time...the beginning of the saga!
